FAQ
About My Drops:
Why can't I see any items for sale right now?
I release my pieces in collections through scheduled drops rather than maintaining constant inventory. When you visit between drops, you won't see items available for purchase. This allows me to focus on creating cohesive collections and ensuring each piece meets my quality standards.
What is a "drop"?
A drop is when I release a new collection of stained glass pieces all at once. Each drop features unique, handcrafted pieces that are available for purchase until sold out.
How quickly do drops sell out?
Due to high demand, my pieces often sell out very quickly - sometimes within minutes of a drop going live. To avoid disappointment, it's important to be prepared ahead of time. I recommend:
- Having your shipping and payment information saved and ready
- Joining my newsletter to know exactly when drops will happen
- Setting a reminder for the drop time
- Deciding which pieces you want in advance (I usually preview upcoming pieces on social media)
How often do you release new drops?
As a solo artist, my drops happen when I've completed enough pieces for a collection. Since each piece is handmade by me, this timeline can vary. Sign up for my newsletter to be notified of upcoming drops.
Generally though - I try to do releases every 2 - 3 months.
Purchasing & Availability:
How can I prepare for a drop?
Given how quickly pieces sell out, here's how to have the best chance of getting the piece you want:
1. Sign up for my newsletter to get drop announcements and timing
2. Follow my social media for previews of upcoming pieces
3. Create an account on my website before the drop
4. Save your shipping and payment information in advance
5. Know which pieces you want to purchase before the drop goes live
6. Be online and ready a few minutes before the drop time
Do you offer pre-orders?
Yes! For certain popular designs from previous collections, I occasionally open pre-orders. These are pieces I've made before and am willing to recreate. Pre-order availability is announced through my newsletter and social media.
Please note that pre-orders may take several weeks to complete as each piece is still handcrafted individually.
Do you take custom orders?
While I occasionally accept custom commissions, my primary focus is creating pieces for my scheduled drops. Please contact me directly to discuss custom work possibilities.
Why do you use the drop model?
The drop model allows me to:
- Focus on creating cohesive collections
- Maintain high quality standards
- Share my creative process with my community
- Create excitement around new releases
- Better manage my workload as a solo artist
How long does it take to make each piece?
Each stained glass piece is handcrafted through a meticulous process that can take several days to weeks, depending on complexity. This includes:
design, glass cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, and finishing. I handle every step of the process myself.
After a Drop
What if the piece I want is sold out?
If a piece you love is sold out, you have a few options:
- Watch for pre-order announcements, as I occasionally recreate popular designs
- Join my newsletter to stay updated on new releases that match your interests
- Contact me about similar pieces that might be available in future drops
Will you remake a sold-out piece?
I do occasionally offer pre-orders for popular designs from previous collections.
Shipping
How do you package and ship your pieces?
Each piece is carefully wrapped in protective materials to ensure safe delivery. I take extra precautions with packaging since stained glass is delicate. All pieces are insured during shipping.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! I ship worldwide to any country. Each piece is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely, no matter the destination. International shipping times and costs will vary by location. Please note that:
- Buyers are responsible for any customs fees or import duties
- Shipping times vary by country and local customs processing
- All international packages are fully insured
- Tracking information is provided for all shipments
Are there any special delivery requirements?
For pieces valued at $300 or more, a signature is required upon delivery for your security. Please ensure someone will be available to sign for these packages, or consider having them delivered to a work address or post office for pickup.
Care & Safety
How should I hang my stained glass piece?
I recommend hanging your piece from a sturdy hook that has been screwed into a secure material (like a wall stud). While suction cups can work, they're a bit risky as they might give out under too much weight.
How do I clean my stained glass piece?
Less is more when it comes to cleaning! A gentle dusting with a microfiber cloth is usually all you need. Avoid using Windex or any other chemical cleaners, as these can damage the solder. If you want to add some shine, you can polish the piece using car wax or furniture polish.
Is there anything I should know about handling the pieces?
Yes! My stained glass pieces are crafted using solder that contains lead, and some pieces have lead borders. Even though each piece is sealed when finished, it's important to wash your hands with soap and warm water after handling any stained glass piece.
Think of it like handling raw chicken - just don't put it in your mouth please... lol!
Are there any safety precautions I should take?
Absolutely! Here are the key safety points:
- Lead is a health issue when ingested
- Always wash your hands after handling
- Keep pieces out of reach of pets and children
- Make sure pieces are hung securely
- Handle with care to avoid breakage
Where should I display my piece?
Choose a location that is:
- Away from areas where it might get bumped
- Secured with proper wall hardware
- Out of reach of children and pets
- Away from harsh cleaning products
How often should I clean my piece?
Most pieces only need occasional gentle dusting. If you notice your piece getting dull, you can use car wax or furniture polish to restore its shine. Remember - no harsh chemical cleaners!
